John Norton

John Norton is a Managing Director at ACT Capital Advisors, where he represents business owners across a wide range of industries and leads the firm’s Information Technology practice. Based in Vancouver, Washington, John brings a strong entrepreneurial background and extensive M&A experience to his work, helping clients prepare for and execute successful exits.

Before joining ACT in 2016, John built and operated several successful companies. Most notably, he served as President of iHost Networks, a provider of web hosting, domain registration, and eCommerce services. Under his leadership, the company grew from a few hundred small and mid-sized business clients to a base of more than 14,000 customers. He completed the sale of the business to a private buyer in 2015.

Earlier in his career, John was a partner at MicroCrafts, Inc., a custom software engineering firm that became one of the fastest-growing companies in the Seattle region—earning the #3 spot on Deloitte’s Fast 50 list. The company was later acquired by Metamor Worldwide, a publicly traded technology enterprise.

John earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Washington, where he was also a two-year letterman on the Husky Crew Team.
