David Pickard

Dr. David Pickard is a seasoned M&A sell-side advisor, business leader, speaker, and educator with more than two decades of professional experience. His expertise spans marketing, finance, and economics, and he regularly works with business owners and senior executives on valuation, exit strategy planning, and succession solutions.

Before joining ACT Capital Advisors, Dr. Pickard spent a decade in a senior leadership role at a top-tier investment banking firm and previously held multiple management positions during his 10+ year tenure at Black & Decker. Alongside his corporate career, he has also founded and operated several successful businesses.

Dr. Pickard earned both his Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) in Marketing and his Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing from the Muma College of Business at the University of South Florida. Over the course of his academic research, he interviewed more than 500 business owners and completed his doctoral dissertation on the progressive and regressive influences affecting exit strategy decisions. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Nelson University.

Dr. Pickard currently resides in Dallas, Texas, where he enjoys life with his wife, Natalie, and their daughter, Gabriela Valentina.
