Blake Ponuick

Blake Ponuick is a Managing Director at ACT Capital Advisors, leading the firm’s initiatives across the Western Canada market. With more than 30 years of executive experience, Blake has held key leadership roles—including CEO, COO, CMO, and VP of Sales & Marketing—within both private and publicly traded organizations. His entrepreneurial journey, which includes founding, acquiring, and successfully exiting multiple businesses (most recently in 2021), allows him to bring a highly practical and empathetic perspective to his advisory work.

Blake’s expertise spans Mergers and Acquisitions, exit planning, restructurings, turnarounds, and capital raising. Over the course of his career, he has raised more than $100 million and led companies through a wide range of strategic transactions. His experience also includes serving as Chairman and CEO of a publicly traded M&A company in the electronics manufacturing sector, further solidifying his deep understanding of deal execution and corporate leadership.

His operational background covers a broad mix of industries, including software and technology, telecommunications, manufacturing, agritech, apparel, sports and recreation, food and beverage, and construction. Alongside his work at ACT, Blake remains active in the Canadian innovation and startup ecosystem as both an angel investor and strategic advisor.

Blake is especially passionate about supporting Canadian business owners in maximizing valuation outcomes—leveraging ACT’s extensive U.S. buyer network to drive competitive interest and enable successful cross-border exits.
