About the Role
As the Data Science Lead for Investment Analytics, you will oversee advanced analytical initiatives supporting investment strategy, portfolio intelligence, and research-driven decision frameworks. You will lead the design and deployment of predictive, econometric and machine-learning models across asset classes while driving innovation in data-driven investment tooling. This role offers the opportunity to shape analytics strategy, influence enterprise data architecture and work closely with investment leadership across global markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and governance of advanced analytical frameworks focused on forecasting, portfolio optimisation, attribution analysis and risk-adjusted return modelling
- Oversee the implementation of machine learning, AI-driven analytics, NLP and alternative data solutions to enhance investment decision-making and market insight
- Partner with investment, research, data engineering and product teams to align analytical outputs with firmwide strategy and investment priorities
- Design and optimise model lifecycle workflows—including hypothesis development, feature engineering, model training, validation, and performance monitoring
- Evaluate sourcing, integration and usage of traditional, proprietary and alternative datasets (market, transactional, behavioural and macroeconomic)
- Provide thought leadership through research publications, methodology documentation, testing frameworks and analytics governance
- Manage and mentor a high-performing team of data scientists, quantitative analysts and research engineers
- Drive continuous innovation in tooling, modelling techniques, automation and operational model stability
- Support executive decision-making by presenting insights, scenario analysis and forward-looking analytics in a clear and actionable manner

Who You Are
- Strong academic background (Master’s or PhD) in Data Science, Machine Learning, Quantitative Finance, Statistics, Computer Science or related quantitative discipline
- 10–14+ years of experience in data science, quantitative analytics, AI/ML modelling or investment analytics, with at least 4+ years in a leadership role
- Deep expertise with statistical modelling, ML frameworks, NLP techniques, time-series forecasting and large-scale data architecture
- Strong technical proficiency in Python, R or similar languages, as well as exposure to cloud analytics platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and distributed computing
- Familiarity with financial markets, investment products, multi-asset modelling and portfolio analytics frameworks
- Proven track record building and scaling data science teams, managing stakeholder expectations and delivering enterprise-grade analytical solutions
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical analysis into clear strategic insights for non-technical investment audiences
